Why Have To Install A Pressure Reducing Valve At Steam Pipe?

When the steam is transported from the boiler to the steam point of the equipment, the decompression control is usually carried out. Why does steam need to be pressure reducing? The main reasons are as follows:

pressure reducing valve

1. Boilers usually produce high-pressure steam, which can reduce the size of the boiler, reduce the occurrence of wet steam, improve steam dryness, for long-distance transmission.

2. Because of the change of the density of steam, the density of steam is higher at high pressure, and the high pressure steam can be transported in the same diameter pipeline than the low pressure steam.

3. Condensation will occur when steam is used, the reduced pressure steam will reduce the pressure of condensate, and the loss of flash steam will be avoided when condensate is discharged, and the energy loss of condensate is less.

4. Because the temperature and pressure of the saturated steam are corresponding, the pressure reducing valve will be installed in the sterilization process and the surface temperature control of the paper dryer to control the pressure, thus controlling the temperature of the process equipment.

5. The process equipment has its own design pressure, when the supply of steam pressure exceeds the demand of the process system when the need to decompress, when some systems are using high-pressure condensed water to produce low-pressure flash steam, to achieve energy-saving purposes. When the flash steam produced is insufficient, it is necessary to generate low-pressure steam supplement through the pressure relief valve.

6. You can reduce the steam load of the boiler because of the high enthalpy of steam at low pressure. 2.5 MPA, the enthalpy value is 1839KJ/kg, 1.0 MPA, the enthalpy value is 2014kJ/kg. Therefore, low-pressure steam is more suitable for the use of equipment.
