What Is The Principle Of Spring Return And Double Acting Pneumatic Actuator?

As we know, pneumatic actuators have 2 types. One is spring return type(also call single acting), and the other is double-acting type. So what is their principle?

Principle Of Spring Return Pneumatic Actuator:

Air to port A forces the pistons outwards, causing the spring to cpmpress. The pinion turns counterclockwise while air is being exhausted from port B.

Loss of air pressure on port A, the stored energy in the springs forces the pistons inwards. The pinion turns clockwise while air is being exhausted from port A.

Air to port B forces the pistons outwards, causing the spring to cpmpress. The pinion turns counterclockwise while air is being exhausted from port B.
